RESPONSIBLE CONSUMPTION & PRODUCTION

We set out to create designs that last and care about the afterlife of our clothes. By challenging ourselves throughout the whole business, we’re introducing more responsible materials with each collection and making responsible choices with every store we open.

So far we’ve introduced an archive store, recycled materials, take back schemes and a rental service to extend the life cycle of clothes.

GANNI REPEAT

GANNI REPEAT is our rental service where you can rent GANNI pieces from past and present seasons.

Rethink the way you consume fashion, refresh your wardrobe and rent limitless pieces while making a solid commitment to our planet

For now it is only available for our Danish community. Once we’ve tested it out, we aim to launch for everyone.

GANNI POSTMODERN

In 2015 we opened our archive concept store in our hometown Copenhagen, to give you a second chance to shop pieces you love from past seasons, one-off samples and other rare pieces.

STORES

We use second hand furniture, innovative recycled and upcycled materials where possible, renewable energy and have a garment take back box scheme in select stores.

GANNI GARMENT TAKE BACK SCHEME

You can find our garment take back boxes in the following stores:

Bring all kinds of unwanted clothing and shoes from any brand, in whatever condition and we’ll sort them so they’re either reused, recycled or transformed into new fabrics.

For every kg of clothes we receive, we will donate back to the I:CO circularity research project.

We’ve got it from here.

GANNI LAB

For 2020, We are working on a minimal impact capsule collection as part of an SDG Accelerator programme with the UN and monitor Deloitte, through our GANNI LAB.

We're taking this capsule collection out of how we usually do things and re-thinking the way we operate, to get as close to impact free as possible.

The GANNI LAB aims to tackle some of the global challenges the fashion industry faces to create a ‘test’ environment for how fashion will be produced in the future. This project is as much about the process as the products, we’re not scared to fail as long as we’re learning. We’ll be documenting the process to share with you.

INNOVATIVE MATERIALS & FUTURE FABRICS

We’re looking at what we can do better to be more responsible from the design stage.

So far we have introduced recycled polyester, recycled nylon polyamide swimwear styles, and thermoplastic rainwear with biodegradable properties. For Spring Summer 2020, ⅓ of our collection will have a certified sustainable element. All our swimwear will be made from recycled materials, we will use a mix of organic cotton, recycled polyester, recycled polyamide, linen and we will be introducing a viscose alternative, LENZING™ ECOVERO™.

Collaboration is the future. We joined forces with sustainable hosiery brand Swedish Stockings to design a line of responsibly produced stockings for our FW19 collection.

OTHER ELEMENTS

From FSC Certified hangtags to GOTS Certified organic cotton tote bags, we’re relooking at all the smaller details.

Any wool we source is certified to the Responsible Wool Standard and any Down we source is certified to the Responsible Down standard. Both are global standards that safeguard the welfare of animals and the land they graze on.
